[DIVERSITY]
Hello there once again followers and BLOG readers. it's been a while since I last blogged about something and it's kinda' disappointing thinking I only made time to blog because this entry is a homework. So in the next paragraph I will be talking about my homework since I am tasked to do so.
now look here....
What do you see...
These kids are kids from different races, ans so to speak of different cultures but in this photo they come together as one. If only the whole world would be like these kids. Then discrimination would be eliminated in this weird and wacky world.
but reality check! People would always have the tendency to be proud of ones race and culture and in the end would tend to discriminate others. Now that's what we call Cultural Ethnocentrism. [Ethnocentrism is the tendency to believe that one ethnic or cultural group is centrally important, and that all other groups are measured in relation to one's own. (wikipedia)]
This is very true on all the places in this world most especially here in the Philippines. Most (take note, "most") Filipinos would usually think that other country's culture is better than our own culture usually of the western ones. They would usually tend to copy other's culture, or sometimes they tend to migrate to other countries and adapt that county's culture and finally look down on the Filipinos thinking that our culture is lower than that of other foreign countries.
I myself is guilty of looking out to other country's culture. Rest assured however, that I am proud of being a FILIPINO and I LIVE the Filipino Culture. Want proof? 'Coz I'll never be able to write these down on all caps if I was not proud of it right?... hahaha...
Now what I think about those people who despise our culture? I think they are immature people. I mean why won't they wake up?! wake up to the fact that we are born Filipinos with brown skin and believes that parents are there to always discipline us no matter how much others may think that it is child abuse. [eg. pagpapalo.. kekeke =)] that is our culture... and we should all be proud of that.
we are indeed in a world of diverse culture... But that does not mean it's already reason for us to look down on other's culture or even want to live in other people's culture. Instead we should always put in mind that this world, no matter how divers, we still need to be UNITED.
so this is the end of it dear followers.,... until next time... byeee.. =)
