Now now, I'm not gonna blog about the soap itself, though I am using it every day of my life. What I am going to blog about today is the value and self worth that this product promotes today. we all call it as "Self-esteem"
Self-esteem is one of the many things God has given us as human persons, but we would usually disregard it. now here are some questions that I would be answering to further explain the thoughts that's on my mind right now.
Now my answer here is BIG. As big as how media affects the mindset of people seeing them. Let's call these media specifically as ADVERTISEMENTS; whether they maybe in the form of print or film. They affect the minds of people most especially teens on the objects that they use in their ads. Let's say for example beauty products, companies would commonly and obviously use fair skinned, straight haired and thin bodied models in their products to make their products sell. Though unconsciously, they already are setting standards on how real beauty would look like. It's not really their fault though, for it's a big need for them to make their products sell, and their only way to do so is to present something good to the audiences. This only shows how powerful media is to our world.
I think yes, not only is it different but I think it's a bigger pressure for women than men when it comes to the topic of self esteem. You may say that I am wrong but according to what my eyes would see in this world (and me being of the same gender), it is the women who are more conscious of how they look and who would usually want to have the "perfect" self that they would usually see on advertisements.
I admit it myself that I am guilty of this issue as well. sometimes I would see my dark-toned skin as something not good to the eyes and would usually seek for whitening remedies; or even my not-so-fat self as someone who won't fit to any clothes anymore. After seeing those videos that our teacher showed us about boosting your self-esteem, I finally realized that their's no standard for being beautiful or being ugly. The only person that could measure real beauty is yourself.
