it's 12:50 in my clock right now.... and I'm still awake and so hyped up......
well I just finished watching RELPY 1997.... and I just can't stop myself from blogging..... so here I am.....
RELPY 1997 is such a good drama,,,...... yes it really is!..... well it's not really the perfect drama on earth... but it just had strong points that made it really nice to me.....
firstly... I like the story itself.... how it revolves around the year 1997 when Si Won (Eunji) and Yoon Jae's (In Guk) friendship is at it's peak........
I like how they depicted a strong bond of friendship between a boy and a girl where in it took me to an extent of feeling like they are already twins........ it was a matter of coming to each other's homes anytime... having meals there anytime....... and what captured my eye the most is how they'd been sharing the same food, the same straw, the same utensils, the same everything without any fuss.. [well, I don't even d that to my brother.. hahahah] ... I mean the makers were detailed about those things that they didn't forget to emphasize the level of closeness from the both.....[CLAP CLAP CLAP]
secondly, I love the concept to FANGIRLing, which is really evident in the whole story...... it showed how fan girls were really fan girls, and how parents would go uneasy about it.... well I kind of like it because maybe I'm a fangirl as well, and I was so amazed to see how they depicted a fangirl in their drama.....
third, I would like to give a CLAP CLAP CLAP to the music scoring..... so perfect .... they did a wise job on the music scoring...... the music they used were so appropriate to the time setting each scene is, may that be just the background music for a scene, or a music playing from the radio/tv, and even the ringtones for their phones.....I think that really helped in setting the time......it was perfect.......
fourth,... I like how they were gradually building up the whole story..... it started blankly in a class reunion..... and slowly revealed hints of who was getting married, Si Won was pregnant, who was that man Si Won was married to..... until the greatest revelation [to me].... that they already had a daughter......... well initially I did not expect those.... until they were trying to tease me as the story gets deeper and deeper..... even got me to really guess and ship hard [Eunji-In Guk]....hahhahah
fifth... I like how they ended each episode with a small reflection from the characters...... reflections wherein it showed the reality people face in their lives..... how each character learned their lesson, and give indeirect tips on how to deal with the reality of life.......
also, I love how much they emphasized the technology, the way of life and the culture of the people in the late years of the 90's...... these really made me miss my 90's life....
and of course, lastly... I really love the concept of having best friends fall in love in an unexpected way..... especially for their situation wherein they're like twins already, grew up with each other and knowing each other from head to toe.... makes me really envy...... T_T.... aigooo... wanna fall in love with my best friend too..... whahahah![don't think about weird things..... I have lots of them, don't even think you know..... it's not the person in your mind...... :P]
and oh... I forgot.... thank god they ended it really nicely..... the ending was not really the stereotype ending of clarifying each character's life [though it really did happen].... but I like how they ended it with a light hearted ending that explained things, and did not "bitin" me at all........ urgh... I just don't know how to put them in words.... but yeah... it was nice....
but on the other side of the wall...... I had little disappointments as well.....
firstly, I was not really okay with the flashback thingies.... at first I found it really annoying to have things go back and forth from year 1997 to year 2012........ but after a while I caught up with the pattern...... well it's just something to get used to.......
also, even though it was a good conflict, especially the execution of the story, however I found the part where Tae Won[the brother of Yoon Jae] fell in love with Si Won.. .... that part of the story is just to mainstream in a way that it was not really catchy for me.. I mean, Tae won was so old, yet he falls inlove with a girl who's young as his brother.... kind of "eeeeeehhhhh" to me... I mean it was [at some point] made me think that it was kind of just done in order to creat conflict...... I don't know..... maybe I was just lacking at some point....... well, I don't really wanna meddle with that....
so moving on.........
third..... I was not that good with the accent..... maybe since I'm used to watching Seoul accented dramas...... and now I'm watching this full Busan satoori drama..... and I found it unusual... to an extent that I found it kind of annoying..... hahahah..... I'm just not used to it......
and lastly..... I did not like the time span of each episode...... it was just 35-45 mins long..... when I really wanted to watch more of each episode.... T_T
well all in all, I still would really recomend this to everyone.... it's not the perfect drama on earth [again I repeat]... but it had a very different feeling in it that would really make you like it...... most especially if you are a 90's kid..... you'll really miss the 90's.......
very good drama..... indeed.... no wonder it's gaining lots of love all over the world........
and EUNJI & In Guk did a good job on their characters... esp Eunji who was a neophyte in acting....
want a dose of stress reliever??? try watching this.... it's so nice....
well I bet... after this, it would still take me around 5 days to get over....... ahahhah well... that's me!.... LOL
