first of all, let me admit it...... I'm such a great LOSER.... for just watching/ reading this Hunger Games thing....
I bet all of you had gotten over it by now.. and here I am.. idiotically spazzing over it .......alone.... huhuhu.....
so I just watched the movie last monday, and read it yesterday..... and oh yes, I'm so proud of myself.... I finished this book at exactly [well almost exactly] 24 hours.... forgive me for this...... I just have to brag about it...... though I admit it's kind of a short book, and maybe a number of you read this thing for 5 hours *face palm on me*
so here it goes....
firstly I wanna reiterate how uh-mazing this is.... from the book to the film... uh-mazing......
well watched the film first [one thing I was avoiding before, but it just happened]... I might say doing such was not a bad idea after all.... I mean, the book and the movie were not really far from each other.... just that after I read the book it only just gave me additional details about the whole story [minor details that is] but the whole story was preserved in the movie..... which really did not give me a hard tome to adjust... I did not even adjust my imagination at all.....[unlike other books.... almost all of them are altered in one way or another, which makes them far from the book version... tsk]
and yes, thankfully, I got to see the movie first, that it gave me a partial picture of what images to imagine in my head the moment I go read the book.....
since I already did a short review previously on the movie.... I'll just add a few things up.....
so yes the whole movie was DAEBAK..... I [again] praise my critical thinking skills [the one I confidently and surely developed through my ever k-drama watching] that I got the whole story right from the movie itself.... I also got to dig some back stories in them as I watch...... some parts were totally obvious... other I'm mo doubt proud to have decoded myself.... [so reading the book then just proved all my speculations and guesses right].....
well yes that's it... the movie is just not that far from the book.. they manage to preserve the important scenes and twitched a little parts from them and changes some minor scenes.. but they did not ruin the whole main point of the story.... thankfully........ not like most of the things I watched that were greatly manipulated by the director.... [one advantage of having the author co-produce the film]..
the book..... well now here comes the amazing book......
so first I wanna congratulate the author for coming up with such a great story..... I don't really know where she got this inspiration from... but I admit this gladiator tv show thingie is waay amazing to be a product of one's imagination.... and I love how she made the contemporary mix with the classics [this part is more evident in the movie]......
also this book just dragged me in that I got the feeling of the characters in the book... I even stopped to catch my breath before going on reading the start of the games part..... and I even find myself laughing over some scenes.....
I have to comment on the writing though... I mean the technique she is using reminds me of fanfictions.... more like how I would write them...
yes me!.... it's too familiar because I write the same way..... how she openly gives out the details and as to what a character feels....things like that... [sorry kinda hard to explain]..... it's really me.....
and how much she [sorry to say this] is not that romantic for a writer... I mean the thought of the whole romance thing gets me spazzing really..... but the way she reveals everything at one shot.... and/or how she finishes each love scene right there and then.....I just have to rate it as a beginner in romance making..... well I admit... I write that way before.... [SORRY! I MIGHT NOT HAD READ ALL OTHER BOOKS SHE WROTE.. BUT THIS IS JUST WHAT I EXPERIENCE READING HUNGER GAMES.. PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT AGAINST ME.....]
well again let me reiterate..... she writes just like me.... an above amateur writer me....... only that she has waaaaaaaaaay better brains than I do [for coming up with that Hunger Games arena].......
no wonder why the youth really loves Hunger Games trilogy..... it's because of the mix of death, brute, some sort of magic/technology and romance.....
so the effect of this whole Hunger Games thing is just so sticking in my mind..... before when I get to shut my eyes I see parts of the movie.... now I get to see scenes from the book itself... the way I imagined them to be.... uh-mazing hunger games.... you will really be remembered....
so I think I have to stop here..... I have to continue reading Catching Fire.... hoooee!!!
NOTE TO ALL: sorry if I offended some of you... this is my OWN opinion.. I mean no harm......... yet again, feel free to comment!
and yes... congratulate me for reviewing a non-kpop thing...
