Foremost, I'd just have to say that I'm no fan of romance novels, but I came across a copy of this one and so be it; I ended up reading.
29 Stars is a short digital novel by a rookie novelist named Elonah Jade. It’s a story about Jane Engmann and her drastic first love on a boy named Damien Reed. Well, first loves. Do they stay? Do you really move on? Or do they haunt you forever?
Like what I said, I’m no fan of romances if they’re placed in the pages of a book; just not my type [ironically though, I write such sometimes. Hahaha] But nonetheless, I think this novel is a good one. It’s written with a great deal of reality in it that it makes you think twice on the possibilities of such things to happen in real life. It somewhat gives you that feeling when you’re watching a TV series and unconsciously comparing the scenes to real life; only this time, it’s written in words. I like how it centered on the “first love” kind of thing. It also makes you look back to your own story of first love. What could have happened back then that you can still remember?
Downside though, I just don’t buy the fact that the writer used American names in a Filipino setting. She could have used family names like Gonzales or something [you know what I mean]. I’m kind of a great supporter of the thing we call “continuity” you see. And yeah, they don’t really need to explain over and over again what happened to the parents; ones is enough. [I suggest you read it, if you don’t know what I mean.] Other than that, it’s really good!
For a rookie author to eventually write something like this definitely deserves a clap clap! It was just a bit awkward for me to read a story written in my name though [just saying. Hahaha]
You might want to read it and check it out for yourself. It’s actually for sale on iBooks at $1.99 [https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/id1038582380]. I say, buying a copy is not a waste. So just go grab one!
It’s been a while my friends! Catch you again soo! Love lots!
