13 might be a bad number for most of you guys. but for me, it seemed to be the best number there is; and there's just SO MUCH to say thank you to the year 2013........ and so allow me to point out certain things I'm very grateful of.....
.... here I go;
[PS. I'll try to be as chronological as I can...... and WARNING: this will be seriously LONG.. kekeke]
#1 the HUNGER GAMES experience..
so this might not be my first miracle of 2013 but it just so happened to start off my year.... I'm more than thankful for that one random afternoon that I dared to click on the play button on the Hunger Games movie copy despite of the promise of not to watch the movie unless I read the book. Because of that I was introduced to the Panem World and got so amazed with it, so attached, and so in love.... Hunger Games; I will always be thankful that I came across you! you gave me a unique kind of happiness.....
[re-view: "
My Hunger Games Story"]
to add up, not only am I thankful for knowing Katniss, but I'm also thankful for knowing JENNIFER LAWRENCE; the girl playing Katniss.... and her on screen partner and true to life friend, Josh Hutcherson; with which their tandem NEVER fails to make me laugh..... oh you got to watch their interviews... it's a mind wreck!... ahhahaha
and yes, how can I ever forget... I'm more than thankful for the existence of this guy playing Cato,ALEXANDER LUDWIG.... the love of my life.....
.......well it's not that I just met him last 2013, [I knew him since before], I just want to mention him as part of my year... so yeah..... Zander is love!!!!! (lol)
#2 BILIB win for 2013
so, let's skip the Feb part and go directly to March, where I won that prestigious (well for us MassComm it is prestisious..kekeke) BILIB for my work on SAPI.
who would ever think I'm gonna bag that BEST DIRECTOR trophy...... and not only that.... 1pm Productions bagged 3 out of 4 trophies that night [Best Director, Best Play, Best Actress] added to that, I got nominated to 7 Bilibs [both in class efforts and personal efforts.] which includes BEST TV SHOW where we talked about Fandoms.
oh that one, made me really proud, never expected teacher will be complimenting me and my hosting skills... [I was never confident on that you know, but since teacher would always praise me, then I think I'm really good] kekeke......... .....
can't I even be more proud??!?! it was like the "bilib" that I always wanted came to me when I least expected it to.... yeah, I learned that this year too;
never concern yourself of the recognition, just do you best and everything will just follow....... [re-view: "
the mind effi'n semester"]
#3 OJT at Bigfoot Studios
yes, I'm super grateful for that OJT experience I had at Bigfoot Studios last summer....... it was like a summer of a lifetime...... not only did get to experience an OJT in an international media outlet but it also gave me a way to
(1) spend summer with my best friendship ever, GEE, not only did I spend time with her but also get to meet her friends.... super amazingly crazy friends.... ahhahah;
and (2) spend some time with my Grand Mommy Lina. Compared to my other siblings, I'm probably the farthest child to Mommy Lina because I was still really young when we get to spend time with each other, so I practically never remembered her... but thank God, spending one summer with her at Cebu made those gaps closer, and now, I think I'm the closest to her....
#4 shoe-year 2013
so in the span of my **years (yes, I would not tell you my age! LOL) in this world it's this year probably that I can remember buying the most pair of footwears........
I got;
..one sparkly flat shoes mom bought me for my birthday;
..one Barbie rubber shoes and one Barbie Wedge, I bought both on my last day at Cebu;
..one "A-Pink Boots" [that I badly want to have] I bought for my yearbook pictorial;
..one running shoes dad bought as a Christmas gift; and
..one pair of Roxy flipflop my Unnie bought from her stay in Canada.
and oh, I got one pair of stilettos from my Tita, but its a brand new hand me down.... so I don't know, make that count... kekeke
...no I don't have the Imelda syndrome, it just so happened to be like that..... but guess what, I think I reached my goal of "owning at least one pair for each kind of footwear" this year... hahahah.....
#5 dream Kitty glasses
after 5 years of dreaming about having it, this year I FINALLY got my mom to buy me my dream green-Hello-Kitty-eyeglasses....
yes, trust me I spent 5 years asking for it in every waking year. but my mom doesn't seem to like neon....... I just don't know what I said to her that day when I dragged her to get me these glasses that she finally said yes.... woop woop!.... I think she probably just missed me after being away in Cebu.... kekeke....
#6 coastal friendship
this year, I've been meeting way lot of friends than the usual.... that moment I got back home from my Cebu OJT, I went out again to a 3-day camping-seminar-trip with my brother...... well it was an annual activity they call "Palawod".... I just tagged along and never imagined to meet new friends....
these crazy friends and our 3-day affair..... well, we're still keeping touch with each other pretty much (online that is).... and we're looking forward to meet each other again soon.... hahahha.... Thank you guys!
#6.5 Horror Room Manager
pretty much all my nagging and straight forward thinking got me this top spot on our Horror Room line up..... that was a WOW for me..... it was both a blessing and a challenge.....
yes, it was challenging, since I have the weight of 40 kids on my shoulder..... I have to lead them and call as many shots as I am expected to..... well it pretty much went well...........................................................................................
until that one stupid downfall at the end of it.................... that's where the unexpected blessing came in..... blessing in a form of classmates and friends....
I am more than thankful for my classmates who welcomed me with an open heart and warm love; comforted me until I got over that freakin' nightmare I got myself stuck into..... well shout out to my classmates: THANK YOU CLASSMATES~!!!!!
#7 distant little siblings
in line with the Horror Room thing, I got to meet these little kiddies that seem to have gotten themselves a good place in my heart.....
well, say hello to Bea, Red and Rinnah.... little kpop kids whom I met during the Horror Room days... they were talents there.... and I most likely looked after them.......
and yeah, giving emphasis on little girl Bea Moc.... the girl my classmates always go on telling me she's very like me.... well, in the dorky side that is.... I do bet she's not as hot tempered as I am.... LOL
and I have several other foshies close to me heart as well..... Nicole Assuncion, the wild girl who seem to find a good spot in my heart..... this girl, lots of people seem to turn on a displeasing eye to.... but here I am, I chose to understand her heart.... she's pretty sweet and she never fails to tell me ho much she's thankful of me..... *big hugs to you little girl!*
#8 I-bulabog saturdays
this will probably the first time I'm going public over this one.... I kinda prefer keeping quiet..... but since I'm really thankful for it, then I'm adding it up here..... my I-bulabog Saturdays..... now pretty much only a few of my friends know about this Ifm DJ thing of mine [only those who actually heard me that is, they would know right there and then that is is me... LOL]
well if you still havent caught it, I'm a dj for a saturday segment at Ifm.... well it's not work actually, I don't really get paid for it... just experience and practice...... but I'm seriously loving it... and the people there are crazily fun....... kekeke
#9 Winnin' it...
so let's talk KPOP............... although YG might have had a freakinly busy year, and had been feeding off my frenzy for the whole of 2013 with all of it's artist comebacks..... one thing that very much made my heart happy is the formation of WINNER.......
now I've been following Who Is Next since it started until today's WINNER boys..... and I'm really happy that these boys came to life [though I'm still grieving on the loss of Bobby ang BI... T_T]
I thank YG for giving me these awesome 5 that makes my heart really happy following....
and THANK YOU LORD for KIM JINWOO..... ahhahaha
and yes, I'm very grateful to meet the winner stans too...... I really fascinated on how warm and friendly these people are [though online (lol) ]...... yes, Aces, let's stay as warm hearted as we are.....
#10 Dream Teams
well you know I have lots of dream team ups in my mind... and I just thankful that most of them happened this year.
(1) Park Shin Hye - Lee Min Ho: these two coming together for The Heirs really made me happy. I have always been wanting them together..... and yes, they did not disappoint...
(2) Lee Seung Gi - Suzy Bae: another dream team... well, I did not really wish for them to come together in a drama.... but knowing that both are my favorite actors, seeing them together for Gu family book already makes me happy...
(3) Bom -Hayi: the team up that really made me jumping high happy..... I really want these girls to to have a collab since Hayi released that unofficial track titled scarecrow[which was originally rumored to be for Bom]..... though it was not the perfect collab we can say, but having them both, YG divas, together is by far an awesome Christmas Gift from YG.... THANK YOU YG!!
#11 online friendships
speaking of gaining online friends... here's some of them that I would just like to highlight being a part of my 2013...
(1) Anne: she's a distant friend I met on YG PH group page... she goes by the name AkoPuSiAnne, both on facebook and twitter..... she was the one I was randomly spazzing on WIN with.... we practically grieved on teamB's loss together,... thus the friendship began...
(2) Allan: Allan Francis Ang.... a not so distant person, yet I just met him online... well he's a common friend of another friend...... well it just fascinates me how kpop can be-friend strangers..... well that's our story.... a random comment on a friend's post, added each other up on facebook, and poof new friend!... ahahha.... well, you see, kpop brings distances closer.. he helped me have a grasp on that truth......... yeah.
and (3) Arnold: this crazy little boy (well I call him "boy" for little boy... ahhaha) who's head-over-heels for Apink's Chorong..... well I knew him back in High School, I used to play with his hair when he comes passing by the corridor before [he was seriously small and really kiddie... LOL (peace Nold)]
it's just now that we seemed to become closer.....only online-closer, it's more like the facebook-comment, private-message, twitter-chat thing............. we spazz on some groups together [lucky him I like his Apink girls], and argue on some...... he just love to pick on me over the groups that I love and those that he hates [ehem YG ehem].....its more like the love-hate relationship (lol) ... but seriously, he's like the distant little brother to me.... we talk things like how me and my siblings talk about..... and yes, it's just seldom that I get to meet a person who talks kpop in a logical manner......
and who could ever thought, this kpop friendship we have can go beyond just that.... it just happened lately that he starts to share with me his heart issues hahahah... those stories I find interesting to know..... and yes, thank you for the trust boy..... [now I'm looking for that day where I can share the same thing to him as well.... but since it's just not that time for me right now,....... we'll just have to wait].... nevertheless, I'm happy to have yet another dongsaeng in my life...... Kamahamnida!.... =)
#12 PINee bee!
you know I'm not a SHINee fan, though ONEW will always have this special place in my heart for that lovely vocals he has........... but it's just lately that I started to discover Key's unbelievable charms that I started to follow them.......
well, there's this person in the classroom that I never imagined being a SHINee fan... well kpop fan that is....... and that is Honey.... my ka-PINee friend.... [well we call ourselves PINee, after Onew's pineapple pet.. ahhaha]
now this person I have never expected to have kpop conversations with.... she practically feeds me with some other k-stuff that I find no interest at all but I know I should have an idea about.... and yes, she gives me a dose of ONEW always.... ahhahaha...... who would seriously know I'd become close to her [even our classmates give us a surprised looks seeing us talking]... hahahaha.... to PINee and beyond!... THANK YOU!!!
#13 the other barkada
so speaking of meeting new friends..... here's definitely me meeting new friends...
meet my distant yet not so distant friends from the Juniors..
oh these crazy bunch that makes me forget who I really am when I'm with them........ I didn't seem to expect, being classmates with them in one minor subject for one short semester can get me too attached........
I don't know, but they seem to be more like hypnosis; making me forget my straight-forward-leader image and unleash my 5-year-old alter ego and just play along in every way we can...... [you can never see me running around the Communications studio, unless I'm with them....] these guys so kiddie, yet so accomplished at the same time... oh you have to meet them... they're uh-mazing!
on a side note though, they may be very loud and seem to be very scattered at times, but when time calls, they can be the warmest person you can talk out your problems to........ times when I need someone to talk to apart from my batch mates..... I quote (them telling me once): "kami nalng gid di bala frends mo sa 3rd year, pwede mo gid na bala ma sugid samun kn gina away ka sang batch mo"........... yes you guys [but don't worry, la kme ga inaway ah.. LOL] .... BIGGEST THANK YOU TO YOU!!!!!!!!
.........................
and yes, speaking of another Junior friend..... here I get to meet yet another one.... Stephanie, the EXO
Stan.... hahhaha.... yeah, she's one of the people I'm thankful having met this year... she's one kpop friend that I can really relate to. she introduced me to Running Man.... and shared with me her unending library of kdramas..... we pretty much prefer the same things on kshows and kdramas..... [though we quite argue over EXO... we will never come in unison with that one.. LOL].. and I call her a Sasaeng.... whahahha.......
#14 the friends I will always have
haven't I said it before, I'm really thankful for my classmates, Blockmates to be specific.... they are the most amazing people in the world...... yes some are moody, some are naggers, some are slackers, some are active and some are just there (hahaha)......they might be all different people, but they have one common denominator, and that is an open heart that seeks to understand each differences and try to survive every waking day as a mascomm student, until the day we graduate..... hahahah...
apart from the blockmates, here's the three others that sticks by me in every thing I do..... people who
stands by my side and shoots me a wide smile no matter how much I get angry at them.... they let me call the shots and hears me out almost always.... [in other words: they make a princess in me.... JOKE!]
and yes, thank you to this only "guy" in the group... ever since his "something" we got even closer than expected (hahaha)..... and I finally got my cover partner.... [check out our covers on my YT channel! here's one -
Bring me The Night (cover) ] [susbcribe to my YT channel! ]
http://www.youtube.com/user/gothichay
and also YOU! Khaye!.... who would ever know I'd be this close to you when we were worlds apart back in high school....
added to that. I'm most thankful for these two girls, Marla and Lynor..... girls that very much rides on to my fantasies.... it just so happened that we seem to be interested in the same things......... and yes, I'm most thankful having them who deeply appreciates me in their lives....
and yes, special mention to my unexpected brother, BENJO..... yes, unexpected brother that is..... well, he's like a brother to me..... one who's been guiding me, scolding me, and makes me copy his notes (T_T)....
very much what a brother would do....... I'm just happy to have met him........ with him I can talk YG all day long and we never get tired.... hahahhaha
another special mention will be my BEST FRIENDSHIP of all times... GEE (gee gee gee gee, baby baby)......... she's like a real sister to me.... we spent lots of ups and downs together... not to mention those
sleepless nights of editing (hahahha)...... we spent most of the summer together, since she's studying at Cebu that time I was in my OJT..... and yes, she made me experience a LOT of first times in my life..... hhahahah... kudos my friendship!.... THANK YOU!
Baby Boom... though we may be in all distant places from each other, having them really close to my heart makes me way happy each year... I'm deeply thankful this year that we get to gather again, all five of us, complete............................oh, these girls of which we need not to say anything.... we just know..... [?]
and of course, how can I EVER forget the most AMAZING, CRAZY, LOUD, and CANDID barkada ever.....
Chay Republic, of which we turned 6-year this year...... nothing much to say about this peeps [since I have always been talking about them]...... just that, I'm deeply thankful for them...... yes I am....
and why of course, add up all the rest of my friends whom I know..... [well you don't expect me to mention all of them do you?... hahahaha]
#15 Family
who would ever not be thankful for their family....
first, my MMB family.... though I already stopped dancing, I know for sure that this family will stay within my heart forever....... I've been though ups and downs on my dancing life lately and that decision of having a rest from dancing this year was more than dificult to make.... but thank you tita Ann, for understanding my heart..
and of course my legit family
well have you heard of the word "spoiled"... well, that's me in this family.... the baby girl of everyone.... the one who has the right to throw tantrums almost in an instant..... the one in the family who gets to request and gets approval for that request without a second thought.... yeah that's me.... hahahha nevertheless, there's not a day that I'm not thankful for them, [this family and all the others: Tita Pen, Tito Willard, Manang Annine, Manong Mac, Mommy Lina, Tita Caro, Tita Mai, etc etc....,...... ]
above all, I AM MOST THANKFUL for my Lord Daddy God, for keeping me and my family beyond safe throughout this year....
well you know there's just too much to be thankful about 2013... these 15 things I've been pointing out are just mere tip of the iceberg.... so lets continue to be thankful people......
and don't make your heart expect too much. [that way, you won't get disappointed, by then you could have waaay more things to be thankful for than these things I'm sharing right now.... *wink wink*]
I'm facing 2014 with nothing but an open heart.... optimism, despite the pessimist I really am....
may our dreams be realized this 2014...... [but remember, don't expect too much].... let's just continue to pray, and trust the Lord in everything.... ["Be it done to me according to your word"]
I have a wish this 2014 though............. and that is, I really hope to see "him" again already..........yes Dad, I do...... =))))
well, if there's one thing I've learned from 2013 and will always bring with me, it's how I learned that
"God doesn't simply shut down a door, without opening another one"
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
